Christian Education

Sunday School classes are currently on a summer hiatus and will not resume until Sunday, Sept. 11, 2011.

Grace Church is blessed with a loving and talented group of volunteers that facilitate our Christian Education program and have been doing so for many years.  It is an excellent program offering classroom learning for all age levels.  The younger students follow a David. C. Cook program and course outline.

Our instructors include:  Robin McFillen, who provides a fun and great beginning for the Pre-K through 3rd grade class as they are introduced to the Bible and it's many wonderful stories; Sue Nolan & Meg Melusen assist our 4th through 6th grade students as they grow in faith and character; Robin York shares the knowledge necessary for our confirmation class of primarily 7th through 9th grade students as they prepare to be received into the Episcopal Church; Katie Nolan, Cathy Brown, Lee McGuigan and Penny Poe work with our older, confirmed  junior and senior high students during the year on many exciting and educational programs and retreats; and, Rev. Dwight L. Brown teaches an adult Sunday School class each week sharing the leadership and knowledge necessary to deepen our faith and commitment to Christ.  Additionally, he also leads a Wednesday morning (10:30 am) Adult Bible Study Group that meets year round.  Nursery care is available each week during the 11 am service - Sarah Stevens provides a safe and caring enviroment for our youngest visitors in a well-equipped nursery/play room.

A Children's Church Service begins our Sunday School program each week and begins promptly at 9:45am in the chapel with the much beloved Sue Nolan as celebrant.   The service last only 10+ minutes and allows the children ample time to get to their classrooms for instructional lessons.  New members are always welcome and encouraged to attend the classes offered each week by our dedicated Christian Education team.  If interested in more information or registering a new member, please feel free to contact the parish office @ 540-955-1610
